Velea blends two traditions. Vedic astrology is sidereal — it tracks planetary positions against the fixed stars of the zodiac and reads the chart as a complete system. From the Western lineage comes the profection year, a technique that shifts with each birthday to show which area of life is most active now.
Together, they locate you in both the larger arc and the immediate moment.
Your chart may look different from what you’re used to seeing, including your Sun sign. That’s because Velea is working from where the planets actually stood when you were born, then following their movements through the timing systems that shape your current chapter.
The point isn’t to give you a different label. It’s to show you where you are in time, what is changing, and what this particular chapter is asking of you.
Those positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris — planetary tables computed from NASA JPL’s DE431, the same data professional astronomy runs on — read against the Lahiri ayanamsa, the measure of how far the fixed stars have drifted from the tropical zodiac. Not a chart rounded to the day. The sky as it actually stood, at the minute and the place you were born.
Each day’s read is built from the layers the engine computes:
Your natal chart — the fixed instrument everything is read against. This is data, and it is no one else’s.
Your era — the dasha chapter you are in. None of it exists without an exact natal chart — it is that same data, carried forward in time.
Your Time Lord — the planet running your year, found by annual profection, and the area of life it makes active now.
The day’s Moon — which room of your chart it lights, the star it rides, the lunar day and its half. This is what sets the day’s character. Your own data, met by the sky as it actually is today.
The Tide — The day’s planetary hours laid end to end, with your ជែលាល្រ veleal’or marked in gold: the one run the day actually favours, with the next window always in the corner of the screen.
You — a daily check-in that weighs what you actually have today against what each task demands.
These become an interface that organizes your day into usable time segments. Not symbolic interpretation. Not generalized advice. A mapping of timing, attention, and priority — built around the chapter you are in.
