As a child in the Reuben Street projects, there was a rectangle of sky above the buildings. The moon, the stars — that was the magic I could reach. I was always drawn to them. Astrology found me early and never left; it was never a phase, it was a pull.

Decades later, my first Vedic astrology reading changed the way I understood myself. The astrologer predicted events in my life with uncanny precision, then told me my Sun was Pisces — not Aries, as I had believed my entire life. The old label made more sense once I understood the new one.
